We have collected some frequently asked questions posted by users of ClassSwap:

Q. Why are my classes not listed?
A.
ClassSwap only opens a short period before the course starts. This period is set by your instructor / studio manager.

Q. My course has started but my class this evening is not listed. Why?
A.
Swaps can only be made up to a short period before each individual class. This is to allow time for notifications to be read by your instructor and the period is set by your instructor / studio manager.

Q. Why can't I swap onto another class that's listed?
A.
You can only take up a swap if you have previously posted one.

Q. How many times can I post a swap?
A.
Until you have no classes left to post!

Q. How many times can I take up a swap?
A.
You cannot take up more places than you have posted.

Q. Are there any time limits imposed?
A.
Yes. However, if a class is listed on either the post board or the take-up board then it is within the time limits set by your instructor / studio.

Q. Can I carry forward swaps posted from last term?
A.
There is a practical time limit for when a posted swap can be used to obtain a replacement swap. This can either be set to finish at the end of the current term or after a set period of time has elapsed. It can also vary between courses. The option is chosen by the studio manager / instructor. If you are unsure - please check with them.

Q. Can I swap into a class of a different ability level?
A.
Generally yes into similar or easier classes and generally no into more difficult classes. Your instructor / studio manager can preset which classes are compatible for swapping. If a class is listed, then you are approved to swap into it.

Q. Can I swap into a class that is not full?
A.
Your instructor / studio manager has control over this. If the option is enabled, non-full classes will be listed a short period before the individual class. It is worth checking back regularly to see what comes up.

Q. I posted a swap accidentally. What can I do?
A.
Providing nobody else has taken your place you can claim it back from the take-up page. If it is not listed then another client has already taken it or it is too late to recover your place.

Q. I took a place on a class that I do not want. What can I do?
A.
You can re-post an unwanted take-up class from the list at the bottom of the post page.

Q. Do I need to tell my instructors if I have posted or taken up a class?
A.
No. Our sytems automatically email your instructors to keep them fully informed.

 

Q. Can I be notified if a suitable swap is posted?
A.
Yes. You can choose which courses you want to hear about any we will email you as soon as a suitable cancellation is posted.

 

Q. If I have swapped into a class that gets cancelled can I then choose a different class?
A.
Yes. Your swap balance is automatically credited allowing you to select an alternative class.
